A firewall is a safeguard utilized by many Local Area Networks (LANs) or Wide Area Networks (WANs) to protect the network from unauthorized access from the outside. They are basically gates that verify the users before they leave or enter the network by way of a User ID, Password or IP address.

What is Anti-Virus?

Anti-virus software consists of computer programs that attempt to identify, stop and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software.


What is an ISP?

An ISP is an Internet Service Provider. This is a company that provides an Internet connection.

What is an Operating System?

The software that the rest of the software depends on to make the computer functional. On most PCs this is Windows or the Macintosh OS. Unix and Linux are other operating systems often found in scientific and technical environments.

What is a Hard Disk failure?

Generally speaking, a hard disk can fail in four ways that will lead to a potential loss of data:

Firmware Corruption / Damage to the firmware zone
Electronic Failure
Mechanical Failure
Logical Failure
Combinations of these four types of failure are also possible. Whether the data on the hard disk is recoverable or not depends on exactly what has happened to the disk and how bad the damage is.

What is ADSL?

ADSL or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line is a modem technology used in our High-Speed Service that provides fast Internet access over your existing telephone wires. It permits ordinary voice telephone conversations and Internet data to be transmitted simultaneously over a single telephone line.

How do I get connected with Internet High-Speed?

To get connected with High-Speed Internet access, customers can apply at one of the Cable & Wireless Business Offices, Retail Outlets or one of our Internet authorised agents

What is hosting and why do I need it?
